Responsibilities
Lead and manage an engineering team both technically and disciplinarily. Make key technical decisions related to Java EE, RESTful APIs, Java libraries, and cross-language integration. Ensure clean architecture, code quality, and sustainable standards. Mentor and support developers' professional growth. Prioritize tasks in collaboration with stakeholders and remove roadblocks. Foster a culture of clarity, accountability, continuous learning, and teamwork. Engage deeply with the organization's innovative non-visible data technology to develop secure and interoperable data usage solutions.
Qualifications
Several years of experience in software development with Java and JavaEE, solid experience designing RESTful APIs and Java libraries, strong knowledge of modern Java versions and best practices. Experience in technical leadership or team lead roles including Scrum. Ability to manage disciplinary leadership or a strong motivation to take on this role. Skilled at handling technical complexity and driving clear decisions with high standards for architecture, code reviews, and development processes. Knowledge of build and dependency management tools like Gradle or CMake. Understanding of modern C++ codebases and cross-language integration concepts. Excellent communication skills both technically and interpersonally. Fluent in English. Experience with JNI, Pybind, frontend frameworks (Angular, React), CI/CD pipelines, security or safety-critical projects is a plus. Residence in or willingness to relocate to Munich area is required.
