Responsibilities

Design and develop core language and runtime features for company-wide system components including a custom expression language, data mapper, and decision engine. Maintain and extend Rust core functionality embedded in Ruby and Go services via FFI bindings. Expand decision engine capabilities from static rules to formula support. Contribute to WASM sandboxing for safe component isolation. Collaborate closely with product and AI teams to define component requirements.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on experience with Rust at systems/backend level. Proficient in Go with production experience. Demonstrated ability to embed Rust libraries in other language runtimes (e.g., Ruby, Go). Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures. Comfortable working in dynamic, deadline-driven environments without fixed methodologies. Experience with AI-assisted workflows and large-scale systems handling millions of requests daily. Excellent technical communication and leadership skills, including planning and executing phased implementations and cross-team projects. Familiar with feature flag use, gradual rollouts, zero-downtime deployment, and architectural decision-making. Mentorship experience and cost analysis skills. Compiler engineering and WASM sandboxing experience are advantageous. Familiarity with project cycle practices and open-source community involvement is a plus.
