Responsibilities
Conduct user research through interviews, observation, field tests, and demonstrations. Map end-to-end user journeys and workflows across all mission phases. Develop information architecture, interaction models, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs accounting for complex operational states. Prototype and test workflows iteratively with representative users. Collaborate with product management, systems engineering, and UX engineering to implement and validate designs. Build and maintain shared interaction patterns and visual language across products. Define acceptance criteria and verify system usability. Advocate for operators balancing mission effectiveness, safety, and technical constraints.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience designing complex digital products in defense, aviation, robotics, vehicles, industrial systems, mapping, or related operational domains. Strong portfolio showing research, workflow design, interaction design, prototyping, and deployed solutions. Ability to structure complex information and reduce cognitive load without concealing critical system status. Experience conducting user testing with professional users and working with constrained engineering systems. Willingness to engage in field observations and adapt assumptions rapidly. Excellent communication skills with sound judgment and curiosity. Preferred qualifications include experience with UAV ground-control systems, human factors, situational awareness, alarm design, degraded-mode interactions, and research with professional operational users.
