Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional projects for hybrid integration of active photonic components on various PIC platforms (LNOI, InP, SiPh). Define and execute full-cycle integration workflows from design through fabrication, build, characterization, and system bring-up. Bridge PIC fabrication and active component integration, establishing reproducible, high-yield co-integration processes. Perform system-level testing and optical alignment, coordinating with electronics teams. Manage project schedules, risks, configuration, and coordinate external partners and suppliers. Optimize optical and electrical trade-offs to enhance assembly yield and system performance.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant industry or research experience. Deep understanding of photodiode and laser physics, hybrid optoelectronic integration, and TIA/driver design and characterization. Hands-on experience with PIC fabrication processes including photolithography, etching, and deposition. Proven experience in PIC testing, optical alignment, and system bring-up, with familiarity of LNOI, InP, or SiPh platforms preferred. Strong leadership and project management skills. Fluent English required; knowledge of German or another European language is a plus.
