Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery and development of the computer vision system for retail action recognition. Define and prioritize technical experiments to validate model precision, recall, and latency. Design and implement end-to-end CV/ML pipelines handling real-world video data. Establish and optimize human annotation workflows for training datasets. Collaborate with product managers and engineering leaders to align technical roadmaps with business needs. Select and optimize state-of-the-art computer vision architectures for detecting suspicious behavior and actions. Provide technical leadership and help shape team best practices and hiring.

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field. Significant hands-on experience in computer vision and machine learning, including training, evaluating, and deploying models in production. Proven track record of building commercial CV/ML systems from concept to production with video-based action recognition focus. Strong software engineering skills with Python and modern ML/CV frameworks. Ability to work in high-uncertainty environments and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. English language proficiency (B2 level or higher). Eligibility to work in Germany. Nice to have: experience with privacy-aware/GDPR-compliant pipelines and annotation tool development, prior work in retail or autonomous stores applying computer vision.
