Responsibilities
Develop geochemical characterisation of ore and formation water; design and evaluate leaching chemistries; create and calibrate coupled flow-chemistry reactive-transport models to forecast recovery and reagent demand; specify and interpret laboratory leach experiments; predict and mitigate formation damage and scaling; model environmental geochemistry for permitting and restoration; interface with process teams; prepare geochemical sections of environmental permits.
Qualifications
PhD or MSc in geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, chemical engineering, environmental sciences or related field; 3+ years of applied experience in geochemical or reactive-transport modelling; expert in PHREEQC and at least one coupled reactive-transport modeling software; strong background in aqueous geochemistry, mineral kinetics, redox and sorption processes; experience with experimental leach testing; ability to assess thermodynamic data and model uncertainties; fluent in English; willingness to relocate to Munich. Preferred: experience in ISR/ISL or hydrometallurgy, high-temp or high-salinity modeling, radionuclide transport, ion exchange/solvent extraction processes, scripting and automation, German language skills.
