As a Junior Deployment Engineer located in Essen, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, specify, and coordinate technical aspects of the plant. The role offers significant ownership with responsibilities including maintaining engineering documents, performing process calculations, liaising with suppliers, and contributing to future project standards in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Own and maintain core engineering documents such as P&IDs, BFDs, and equipment specifications, driving revisions as the project evolves. Act as the technical liaison to suppliers throughout equipment selection to delivery. Perform and challenge mass and energy balances and related calculations including heat loss and pressure drops. Develop scalable factory standards including pipe classes and modular concepts. Communicate uncertainty and cost drivers clearly, collaborate across functions, and support cross-functional discussions to progress the first commercial plant deployment.
Qualifications
Degree in process, chemical, or mechanical engineering or related field. Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and process calculations. Experience interpreting and working with P&ID drawings. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to navigate ambiguity independently. Clear and direct communication skills suitable for flat, collaborative team structures. Experience with Autodesk tools and international projects or supplier management is a plus. Hands-on experience with plant or lab equipment is advantageous.
