Responsibilities
Integrate MANET/mesh radio systems into UAV platforms including mechanical, power, RF, and software interfaces. Define integration strategies including antenna placement and network configuration. Ensure robust command-and-control links between UAVs and ground stations and manage mesh network operation for coordinated swarm behavior. Design and execute structured bench, hardware-in-the-loop, and field test campaigns to validate communication link performance and resilience. Document test setups and outcomes thoroughly. Translate test data into system improvements and support communication system selection and standards evolution.
Qualifications
Professional experience in Electronics or Communications Engineering with hands-on integration of tactical MANET or datalink radio systems. Proficiency in RF fundamentals, antenna design, IP networking, and Linux environments. Demonstrated ability in test measurement and network diagnostics. Eligible to obtain required security clearance (NATO citizenship). Strong communication skills in English; scripting experience with Python or C++ is a plus. Familiarity with military communication standards, secure transmission, and tactical radio waveforms is advantageous.
