Responsibilities
Monitor, assess, and manage vulnerabilities affecting operational systems and remote sites; perform vulnerability analysis and risk assessments using industry standards such as CVSS; review security procedures and applications including access control, encryption, and malware detection; ensure timely remediation through patching and mitigation; investigate and classify system anomalies; identify threats and develop response plans; escalate incidents and critical vulnerabilities when necessary; maintain the Security Risk Register; conduct compliance reviews and develop corrective actions; provide regular reporting to management; support security training and awareness; define and implement cyber security projects; improve security monitoring and reporting tools; support secure engineering practices throughout the system lifecycle; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen security posture.
Qualifications
At least 2 years professional experience in IT Systems Security, Cyber Security, or related field; strong Linux OS experience (Debian, Ubuntu) especially via command line; programming skills in Python; knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Proxmox; scripting skills with Bash or PowerShell; understanding of CVSS; solid cryptographic knowledge; familiarity with systems engineering methodologies; experience in vulnerability management, security monitoring, and risk assessment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities; ability to work independently and in teams; fluent in English (written and spoken). Desirable skills include containerization (Docker), Python web frameworks (Django), understanding SDLC, software security testing, Agile/Scrum experience, and background in space, critical infrastructure, or regulated environments.
