Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and researchers to innovate and improve LCOS device electro-optical performance for imaging and projection systems. Oversee design, prototyping, modeling, and fabrication of LCOS devices optimized for advanced optical systems. Develop next-generation LCOS display architectures including illumination and projection optics. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and fabrication partners globally. Manage academic research partnerships on liquid crystal technology and related applications. Publish and protect innovations through patents. Drive breakthrough advancements in switching speed, contrast ratio, diffraction efficiency, and phase stability of LCOS devices.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD degree in Optoelectronics, Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields. Substantial experience designing, implementing, and characterizing liquid crystal-based devices, with direct experience in LCOS technology for projection/imaging preferred. Knowledge of projector light engine optics and diffractive devices is highly desirable. Proven leadership and team development skills. Proficiency in electromagnetic computational methods such as FDTD and RCWA. Expertise in liquid crystal materials, particularly high birefringent types for fast-switching and phase modulation. Strong programming skills in Python and C++, and experience with FEM or FDTD simulation tools. Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time internationally.
