Responsibilities
Lead design and architecture of custom battery packs for UAVs, focusing on high discharge and strict weight requirements. Collaborate with firmware and electronics teams to define Battery Management System requirements, including SOC and SOH algorithms and protection logic. Work with mechanical engineers on thermal and mechanical management to prevent overheating. Develop and execute rigorous testing plans for battery packs, including safety and compliance with international standards. Support transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring quality and yield.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Over 3 years of experience in battery system design, preferably in aerospace, automotive (EV), or consumer electronics sectors. In-depth knowledge of lithium-based battery chemistry and failure mechanisms. Experience with BMS design, CAD software (Catia), PCB tools (Altium), and communication protocols (CAN, I2C, UART). Proficient in prototype building, soldering, and lab equipment. Security clearance eligibility is required due to defence industry involvement.
